"Who's there?"
See what I did there? I wonder if I'm one of those people who thinks they're funnier than they are. This horned owl with its piercing eyes made for a mysterious muse and a perfect fit for using a limited color pallet. I used ultramarine blue and burnt umber to create the deepest black and of course titanium white. The reference photo used in this painting was done by Jeremy Hynes.

For Oil and Watercolor Paintings, avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading and yellowing of pigments. Use UV-protected glass when framing to provide an extra layer of protection. Maintain a stable environment with consistent temperature and humidity to prevent warping in watercolors and cracking in oils.
Regular dusting is important; use a soft, dry brush or cloth to gently remove dust without touching the paint surface. For watercolors, avoid moisture, and for oils, consider re-varnishing every few years to restore their luster. By following these guidelines, you’ll help preserve the beauty and integrity of your cherished paintings for years to come.
